Sangareddy: Five acres land worth Rs 25 crore, which was assigned to ex-servicemen under ex-servicemen quota in Kandi mandal on the outskirts of Sangareddy town, was taken back by the Revenue officials on Wednesday as certain individuals encroached upon the land.

Based on complaints filed by individuals, Sangareddy Collector Manickraj Kannan directed the revenue officials to find out who were the rightful owners of the lands falling under survey number 615.

Upon ascertaining the way assigned lands were encroached upon by certain individuals, the RDO Srinivas Reddy ordered his subordinates to reoccupy the lands. Kandi MRO Govardhan and revenue officials, along with Sangareddy rural police station SI Shivalingam reached the spot and placed ‘this land belongs to the government’ boards.
