Hyderabad: Government Chief Whip in Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Thursday said Himanshu Motors does exist but K T Rama Rao has nothing to do with it.

Reddy said the Minister had already clarified that he had left the company seven years ago

Addressing a press conference here at the TRSLP office, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said the Congress was making baseless allegations against the Minister. Reddy said the Minister had already clarified that he had left the company seven years ago. There was no transaction since then but still the Congress leaders were indulging in gobbles campaign, he alleged.

It may be mentioned here that IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, during a recent press conference said that he had owned a stock yard depot but it was closed during 2006. He had also offered to give away the Company to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy if he proves that the Company was still owned by him.

Rajeshwar Reddy said the vehicles were procured directly from Toyota Company and not from a particular dealer. He said Government of India (DGS&D) rules were followed when procuring 300 Innova cars. Later, tenders were called for procuring 394 vehicles from Radhakrishna Toyota, he added.

Replying to a question on the mention of Himanshu Motors name in the election affidavit, Rajeshwar Reddy asked as to why the Opposition did not raise objections during the scrutiny of nominations. “If the opposition had raised objections during the nomination process, the nomination would have been cancelled,” he said.

He said the Congress leaders were frustrated and making baseless allegations. He said the sand mafia was rampant during the Congress rule. He alleged that the Congress leaders swindled to the extent of Rs 4,000 crore in sand issue during their ten year rule.
