New Delhi: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are likely to have separate Governors. This was hinted by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during a chit chat with media on Thursday evening.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the Centre does not appear to be in a mood to go in for delimitation before 2024. KCR made some interesting comments with regard to the politics in the two Telugu states.
Referring to the agitation for Kapu reservations, the Chief Minister said that caste-based politics do not exist in Telangana while it would not leave Andhra Pradesh in the near future.
He further said that the BJP which hopes to emerge as political force in Telangana will not succeed and it has already realised the fact and hence was now focusing its attention more on Andhra Pradesh.
He said according to a survey report he has, YSRCP would get about 45 per cent votes in AP while TDP would get 43 per cent. The BJP would get 2.6 per cent votes and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena would poll about 1.12 per cent of votes.
Taking a dig at Pawan Kalyan, he said that by waiving hands one cannot get votes. He said his brother Chiranjeevi had also launched a party but dumped it soon as he was unable to run it. “I despite several odds led the party successfully for 14 years.” A politician should be ready for a long-drawn battle and should work hard for the objectives with which it is formed.
Referring to Vice-Presidential candidate M Venkaiah Naidu, KCR said while it was a matter of pride that Venkaiah Naidu was becoming the Vice-President, it would be a loss for the Telugu states. “We have lost a leader who could speak for the benefit of the Telugu States,” he added.
Replying to a question, KCR said that the TRS government has not closed the note-for-vote case. “If I was in place of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu I would have shifted to AP within 10 days,” KCR said.
