The boy, Mani Nihal was a student from St. Patricks School in Regimental Bazaar, Secunderabad. In a weekly test conducted on Tuesday, Mani failed to answer a question. Believing that he would lose his top rank, Man took the extreme step of committing suicide on Thursday night when his family were not at home.
The incident came to light on Friday when the family members returned home to find him hanging in his room. While they rushed him to a hospitals, the doctors declared him dead. A case has been registered and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
