With the drug racket creating a huge ruckus in the Telugu states, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the concerned officials to take up measures to eradicate smuggling of banned drugs in the state.

Making it clear that strict action would be taken against the drug peddlers and dealers, KCR said that the government will punish the accused but won't treat the drug users as criminals adding that no difficulties would be created for the victims in the case.

Condemning the allegations that the state government is targeting the Telugu film industry in the investigation into the drug racket, the Chief Minister further announced the cash prize of Rs 1 lakh for information about drug dealers and peddlers.
