Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP Kavitha said a befitting memorial would be set up in the name of late C Narayana Reddy, Jnanpith Awardee, who strove to spread literary fragrance at national level. She was speaking at the CNR’s 87th birth anniversary celebrations programme conducted at Ravindra Bharathi on Saturday.

Kavitha released a book “Smara Narayaneeyam” penned by J Chennaiah. Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha recalled greatness of Narayana Reddy, who was into writing till he breathed his last. “We will construct a memorial with uninterrupted lighting and preserve 3,500 film songs of Narayana Reddy for posterity,” she said. She also announced Rs 10 lakh for CNR’s Saraswatha Parishat at Boggulakunta in Abids area.

“The soil of the Telangana has some unknown magic and uniqueness as it produced noted poets, great authors and well known literary personalities that are being praised the world over,” Kavitha said, adding that the present generation has learnt much from Narayana Reddy’s works and future generations have to emulate.
