Hyderabad: The City police has put a ban on bursting of crackers on roads and public places from August 6 to September 6. Hyderabad city Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate, M Mahender Reddy appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and ensure smooth conduct of Ganesh festival immersion processions. Ganesh festival will begin on August 25 with the installation of idols and conclude on September 5 with immersion procession.

The Police Commissioner said the organisers can install Ganesh idols in public places only after obtaining prior police permission. Application forms for Ganesh idol installation and processions will be available at all the police stations from August 10 to 16 and they can be submitted at the police stations on or before August 21.

The organisers seeking police clearance for installation of idol should furnish a “No objection certificate” from the owner of the premises or land whether it is private or government land. Use of loudspeakers will be restricted to box type only. The noise levels should be kept within the permissible limits.
