Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to implement the roads policy, prepared for three years for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) habitats from this year onwards.

The Chief Minister was reacting to news reports appeared in a section of media about the hardships faced by the people in the remote Utnoor area in Adilabad district due to lack of proper road network.

KCR spoke to CMO Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy and others in this regard. He instructed for the immediate construction of road from Donga Chintha to Sonapur road. He wanted this road to be included in the first year road network works. He also wanted works of other roads in the ST habitats to begin immediately.

On the instructions of the CM, Bhoopal Reddy held a meeting with Tribal Welfare Secretary Mahesh Dutt Ekka and Commissioner Laxman. They have discussed the road network in the 1200 ST Habitats in the State. They have decided to have road network in 432 Habitats in the first year at a cost of Rs 250 Crore. In the first phase at a cost of Rs 89 lakh, Donga Chintha-Sonapur road will be laid.
