Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Monday addressed the issues of police brutality against Dalits and BCs in Ramachandrapur, Jillela and Nerella villages from Sircilla-Rajanna district of Telangana.
Stating that she never expected it to happen, she alleged that the police had used the third degree to torture Dalits and BCs in police custody in Sircilla.
Demanding the state government to file cases against the police officials under the SC, ST Atrocities Act, Meira Kumar said that will be meeting the Dalit and BC victims, later aldo address a protest public meeting today.
