Doctors of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad have taken up a strike in the hospital premises, demanding security for their lives.

On Sunday night, two female Junior doctors at the hospital were assaulted by the relatives of a 70-year-old patient who passed away.

The doctors immediately began their protests after learning about the incident.

Nearly 250 junior doctors and house surgeons have boycotted their duties except emergency services since Sunday night.

This is not the first case of attack they have faced at the hospital as it is the fourth such incident taking place at OGH in one month, according to the doctors who stated that they are working their best despite the lack of facilities.

However, they warned that such aggressive behaviour towards them will not be tolerated. The doctors have already submitted an appeal to the Superintendent, who has assured to take action and tried to persuade them to call off their strike.
