Warangal: Woman dupes Facebook friend, arrested
A youth was duped by a woman through Facebook in Warangal. The woman, identified as Polepalli Pratyusha was arrested on charges of extorting money from several youngsters through Facebook.
A youth was duped by a woman through Facebook in Warangal. The woman, identified as Polepalli Pratyusha was arrested on charges of extorting money from several youngsters through Facebook.
Pratyusha recently had befriended a youngster, a native of Jagtial district and currently working in Dubai on Facebook. Following a few months on friendship on the social networking site, she borrowed Rs 50,000 from him stating that she is in a financial crisis.
The victim who believed her story transferred the money to her bank account. Immediately after receiving the money, Pratyusha his Facebook account and contact number. Coming to know that he was duped, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The police recovered Rs 24,000 in cash, seven mobile phones and a two-wheeler from Pratyusha.
