In a statement issued, AICC said that the full responsibility will be the new in-charge of Congress affairs in Telangana.

According to the reports, Digvijaya Singh decided to launch 'Padayatra' in Madhya Pradesh in September. The AICC General Secretary wants to try his luck in the 2018 elections in the state.

Following the Andhra Pradesh reorganization in 2014, he has been the in charge of the Telugu speaking states but his controversial statements caused more damage to the Opposition party in Telangana.

Congress had made no changes at AICC level even after 2014 debacle. However, with several complaints cropping up on Digvijaya Singh, they have decided to replace him.
