Hyderabad: The staff of the Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB) on Wednesday gathered to pay homage to Dr P M Bhargava, its Founder Director.

Dr Rakesh Mishra, Director, CCMB, addressing the staff, remembered Dr Bhargava’s vision, initiatives, persistent efforts in conceiving and building the CCMB. Senior scientists, who were associated with Dr Bhargava for several years, narrated his exceptional qualities. They recollected his accomplishments and contributions to science in general and CCMB in particular.

Everybody opined that the best way to pay homage to Dr Bhargava would be to relentlessly work, strive in carrying forward his legacy and keep up to his ideals for the advancement of science in the country. Each member of the CCMB family should be proud of the environment they were working in and the values that he cherished,” said Dr Rakesh Mishra.

Hundreds of condolence messages kept pouring in from all parts of the country and abroad, he said. He also informed that the body of Dr Bhargava would be kept at his residence ‘Manorama Ghar’, Road No 3, Prashanthi Nagar, Uppal, from 10 am to 12 noon on August 4 for enabling people to pay last respects to him. The final rites will be performed on August 4 at 3 pm at Mahaprasthanam, Jubilee Hills.
