Siddipet: District administration has appointed ‘watchers’ in every village exclusively to take care of avenue and institutional plantations. These watchers and warders would have a special uniform and a badge as well.
During a video conference Collector P Venkat Ramareddy held with special mandal officers and other officials on the implementation of the third-phase of Haritha Haram plantation programme, he informed the officials that for every three-kilometre length of avenue plantation in a village, the watcher would be paid Rs 14,650 and for two-kilometre avenue plantation they would be paid Rs 9700 from the Employment Generation Scheme component.
He told the officials “the administration is concentrating on Haritha Haram from the village-level and that mandal special officers, MPDOs, MROs and other village officials need to take responsibility for getting saplings planted and taken care of”.
