Hyderabad: The City police on Wednesday clarified that the family of Vikram Goud including his wife M Shipali, who was the complainant of the July 28 incident, was not aware of conspiracy of her husband, who injured himself by employing a gang.

While clarifying during the press conference on Wednesday, the City Police Commissioner, M Mahender Reddy said that the police when questioned her, she could only disclose what was told by her husband.

Being not an eye-witness to the incident, she was reiterating what Vikram Goud had told her. He further said that none of the co-accused came into contact with her, even though several meetings were held among the accused in the Film Nagar residence.

However, the Commissioner said that the statements received from her, provided important clues in the case. For instance, she disclosed that he remained disturbed for the past four months, was spending sleepless nights and was leaving house at odd timings. “What she had told about the attacker with a helmet was the version of her husband. None of the family members were aware of this scheme,” the Police Commissioner added.

It may be mentioned here that Shipali in her complaint mentioned that they were about to leave Hakim Baba Darga, which is close to their house, to perform Annadanam (poor feeding), when the incident took place.

They got up early in the morning at 2.30 am and were getting ready to go to the Darga. Her husband, Vikram, came down asking her to follow him. But she was a minute late. And within a minute, she heard very loud sounds. She heard her husband calling out her name loudly, seeking help. As she ran near him, he said with difficulty that a person shot at him and ran away into the darkness.

Immediately, she dialled 108, but there was no response. She personally took him in the car and reached Apollo Hospital at 3.30 am. Her husband Vikram Goud was seriously injured with 2 bullets piercing through his body. The doctors of Apollo Hospital examined and told her that one bullet went through the body and stuck right above the spinal cord.
