Hyderabad: Telangana TDP leaders demanded that the State Government withdraw all the cases that were registered against the people of Rajanna-Sircilla district in connection with alleged burning of sand lorries.

Led by Telangana TDP president L. Ramana, a delegation of TDP leaders including Working President A. Revanth Reddy, M. Narasimhulu, Peddi Reddy and others, met the victims of alleged police brutality in Nerella village of Tungalapalli mandal of Sircilla district.

Speaking on the occasion, Revath Reddy asked as to why IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, who represents the constituency, did not meet the victims. He said that the authorities did not gave any financial assistance to the Dalit families who lost their kin in road accidents caused due to lorries of sand mafia. He demanded that the government compensation of Rs. 10 lakh to the Dalit family. He also demanded compensation of Rs. 5 lakh each to those who were tortured by the police.

The TDP leaders demanded that the Sircilla Superintendent of Police should be suspended immediately and action should be taken against all other cops who used third degree methods on Dalits, BCs and other villagers. They announced that they would launch a mass agitation on Independence Day.
