Hyderabad: The SIT which began questioning Dutch national, Mike Kamminga, as part of investigation into the drug racket, found that he had close links with Calvin Mascarenhas, the `kingpin’. Both allegedly targeted clients by organising lavish parties in the City and maintained good contacts with personalities from film industry and IT industry.

The Excise officials, who are now camping at their Serilingampally office, grilled him for hours on Saturday, over his alleged links with the drug racket. He was interrogated in the presence of his lawyer, as per the court orders. While refuting the allegations, he denied any role in supplying of drugs. The Dutch national who married a City woman is a close relative of Calvin.

Placed in a good position in a noted IT company, he was able to come into contact with employees of various companies through his visits for installation of software. He is accused of using his contacts from Netherlands to procure drugs and supply the same by organising parties at different locations of the City. The investigators tried to retrieve information from Mike, about the parties he organised at different pubs for the prospects. Some of the persons holding top positions in IT companies attended these parties on Saturdays and Sundays.

It is believed that he is not cooperating with the officials investigating the drugs racket. It may be mentioned here that he was taken into custody on July 26, after he was found in possession of 2.8 grams of DMT, which is banned in India, but not in Netherlands from where he belongs. The team will be questioning him for three days. It is learnt that Kamminga’s call list consisted of celebrities’ phone numbers. Notices will be issued to some more celebrities based on the information the officials get during the investigation.

It may be recalled that the Excise Department had earlier issued notices to some film celebrities. It is also learnt that his phone list consisted about 1,500 numbers of various software engineers. It is believed that Kamminga played a key role in supplying drugs to multinational companies.
