Khammam: Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday said dictatorial rule is prevailing in the State. Addressing a press conference here, CPM district secretary Ponnam Venkateswar Rao alleged that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is bent on targeting and harassing those who question its governance.

He said the government machinery is in disarray as all the departments are being driven by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his other family members. “The TRS will no longer continue its dictatorial rule as the people of the Telangana are closely watching his misgovernance,” Rao said, stating that TRS government will face the wrath of poor.

The people who fought against the feudal lords for generations are now witnessing the same under the TRS regime, he said. The TRS government right from the day one of its regime lacked vision, competence and direction, Rao added.

Former municipal chairperson and corporator Afroz Sameena found fault with the administration of Khammam Municipal Corporation for forcefully dismantling some shops near Station Road. This is nothing but vindictive act of the officials, she said, stating that it was retaliation against the shop owners who moved the court against the Corporation.

“It is not fair on part of the officials to flex their muscles against the petty traders,” she alleged.Party’s district secretariat member Yerra Srikanth and Khayyum were among others present.
