Hyderabad: Youth Congress activists in Hyderabad and Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituencies on Saturday tried to storm the State BJP office here in protest against the attack on AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat State.

The activists tied Congress flags on the BJP office. They raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also burnt an effigy of the Prime Minister.

Youth Congress leaders, Prabhakar, Srikanth, Venkat Gurijala, Kotam Anil Kumar, Kiran, Ravi, Madhusudhan, Mettu Sai, Neeraj, Sairaj, Abhishek and several activists participated in the protest.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media here, TPCC Vice-President Mallu Ravi condemned the attack on Rahul Gandhi. He regretted that there was no protection to the leader of the Opposition party. He also alleged that the attacks were being made at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Condemning on Rahul Gandhi, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy demanded that the Centre order CBI inquiry into the Gujarat incident.

Speaking to the media, Sudhakar Reddy said he expected that Narendra Modi would condemn the incident in Parliament, but he did not do so.

Reacting to police refusal to give permission for former MP Ponnam Prabhakar’s indefinite fast, the MLC asked the TRS government whether friendly police meant repression.

Condemning BJP activists’ attack on the AICC Vice-President in Gujarat, TPCC official spokesperson Konagala Mahesh said the Congress activists would protest whenever BJP national President Amit Shah visited Hyderabad.
