Under this scheme, the auto tippers will be branded as 'Swachh Auto Tippers' with uniform colour coding and branding. The eligible beneficiaries interested in providing door to door solid waste collection and transportation services shall be identified on the criteria being prescribed.

They would be supported by the ULB in securing loan for purchase of the Swachh Auto Tipper from the bank. Each Swachh Auto Tipper will be allotted an area covering 650-750 households with route numbers identified by the ULB for providing the service which include timely collection and transportation of the solid waste in a segregated manner to designated transfer station or points identified by the ULBs on daily basis.

The Swachh Auto Tipper operator shall also be encouraged to sell recyclables recovered from waste through DRCC Centres established in the ULBs to compensate the service cost and fuel expenditure incurred for collection of waste. The scheme is aimed at achieving 100 per cent collection and transportation of waste from households in all the 72 ULBs, ensuring compliance to the Solid Waste Management Rules of 2016 and achieving the Service Level Benchmarks.
