Four killed as lorry hits auto

Mahbubnagar: Four persons were killed instantly in a ghastly road accident when a speeding lorry hit an auto-rickshaw from rear side at Kachuvaar village in Makthal mandal on Sunday.

According to the eye witnesses, the speeding lorry lost control and hit the auto-rickshaw. Due to the impact, four passengers of the auto-rickshaw were thrown out of the vehicle.

While one of the passengers was crushed to death under the lorry’s wheel on the spot, the remaining passengers succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to a nearby hospital. Apart from the dead persons, few other passengers were also critically injured.

The Makthal police have taken the truck driver into custody and are investigating the case. All the four deceased passengers are from Samanpally village under Makthal limits.
