K Chandrashekar Rao remembers Prof K Jayashankar

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said the Telangana society can never forget Prof K Jayashankar, for his relentless work for achieving the Telangana State in his entire life.

The CM remembered Prof Jayashankar on his birth anniversary on Sunday. The CM said Jayashankar had sacrificed his entire life in spreading the separate Telangana Statehood concept among the people from the time of Hyderabad State merged with the Andhra State till the second phase of separate Telangana movement. He said Prof Jayashankar would continue to remain a guiding spirit for the Telangana society.

Meanwhile in Siddipet, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said that Prof Jayashankar was a person who was like a father-figure to all Telanganites, as he had sacrificed his entire life to achieve the separate Statehood, without even getting married.

"As a student, as a teacher, as a professor, he constantly spread Telangana ideology and this kept the flame of separate Statehood when the movement was launched again in 2001. Professor Jayashankar was the architect behind Chidambaram's statement about Telangana in 2009. He spread the ideology while KCR achieved it," he added.
