Hyderabad: Speaking at the 'Raksha Bandhan' programme organised on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan on Monday, AP & Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said that 'Raksha Bandhan' is an auspicious event celebrated all over India with sisters tying Rakhis to brothers, seeking their protection and blessings. He said that similarly sisters should extend their love and affection towards brothers also. It is celebration of occasions like these that bind families together, said the Governor. He wished peace and happiness to people of both the Telugu States.

As every year, 'Raksha Bandhan' programme organised at Raj Bhavan saw 350 students and 64 teachers from 24 schools from Twin Cities participating in the programme and tie Rakhis to the Governor.

Governor Narasimhan and Lady Governor Vimala Narasimhan, actively interacted with small children and school students who came to wish them.

School children from Devnar School for the Blind, have also participated in the programme, wished the Governor and tied Rakhis to him.
