Kamareddy: Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammad Shabbir Ali on Sunday lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's for his recent decision to approach courts against the Centre for slapping GST on the construction material of irrigation projects.

He said that it was another example of his double standards and political opportunism. Addressing a meeting of the party workers in the town, Shabbir Ali said just three days ago, KCR had blamed the Congress party of approaching courts thereby creating hurdles in path of Telangana development. “KCR who had abused Congress leaders then was talking of taking the GST issue to the court,” he lamented.

The Congress leader expressed hope that good sense would prevail on KCR that protesting and approaching court on issues of public importance. He said that Congress party in the State was taking up issues of public importance. Unlike the TRS, which was verhy vindictive towards the Opposition parties, the Congress was trying to save the people from the blunders of the TRS ' he said.

Coming down heavily on KCR for using filthy language in abusing Congress leaders, Shabbir said that was unbecoming of a Chief Minister to use such language, which was against Telangana culture. “His outbursts only reflect his desperation and fear of losing political power after the 2019 elections”, he added.

He said that the Chief Minister has lost his mental balance after failures on all fronts. Farmers, students and women were dissatisfied with him and he has failed completely in taking up and completing major irrigation projects. He criticised the Chief Minister for being dictatorial. As a ruler, KCR should develop some humility, he added.
