Hyderabad: Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday met the alleged victims of police brutality and promised to do justice.

Eight persons, who were allegedly subjected to brutal torture by the local police, are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Vemulawada. They were recently released from Karimnagar District Jail.

Accompanied with Vemulavada MLA Ch. Ramesh, KTR visited the Manohar Hospital and met the victims and assured that necessary action would be taken against the guilty police officials. Speaking to media persons later, KTR strongly condemned the incident and said that the matter was being investigated by the DIG. He said stern action would be taken against the guilty cops after the receipt of enquiry report. He said the victims would be provided best treatment.

KTR alleged that the opposition parties have tried in vain to gain political mileage from the incident. He said it was an attempt to distance him from the people of Sircilla. However, he said he would stay among the people of his constituency and resolve their problems.
