Hyderabad: The responsibility of protecting the society from the ill-effects of illicit drug abuse and drug menace lies solely on the government, said Prof Kodandaram.
Prof Kodandaram was participating in a student-rally conducted at Dilsukhnagar in the city on Tuesday. He appealed to the State government to take every step to prevent Hyderabad transforming into another Udta Punjab.
Kodandaram demanded the government to investigate the ongoing drugs case in a transparent manner so that the culprits are brought to the book and punished severely.
Kodandaram felt that the onus of grooming the students into future citizens of the country lies on the colleges. He advised the managements of the educational institutions to take stern action in keeping the drug mafia away from the institutions.
