New Delhi: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has assured an AICC delegation that it would depute a team to seek a report on Nerella incident which the party has made its focal point in its fight against the TRS government of late.

A team led by R C Khuntia, newly-appointed in-charge of TPCC, former PCC presidents V Hanumantha Rao, P Laxmaiah, MPs M A Khan, Renuka Chowdary and Rapolu Anand Bhaskar and chief spokesperson of TPCC Dasoju Sravan met NHRC Chairman H L Dattu in the morning and briefed him about the Nerella incident.

Complaining to him that the SCs and BCs of Nerella in Sircilla district were being harassed in the village ever since the assault on people protesting against the land mafia. They told him false cases were filed against Congress leaders in the incident for joining hands with the people in the struggle against the ruling party's corruption.

Later, the delegation also tried to meet the Chairman of the National SC Commission, Ram Shankar Katheria, but, as he was not present, they submitted a memorandum to his office complaining against the Superintendent of Police alleging excesses on his part.
