CPM condemns renewal of octroi tax, toll tax
The re-introduction of octroi tax and toll tax, within a month of discarding it over Good and Service tax (GST), has led to resentment from the members of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB).

Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPM, city unit, claimed that the re-introduction of these taxes is in the favour of ruling party and must be condemned.
The CPI (M) city secretary M Srinivas on Wednesday said the Central government had introduce GST last month for uniform taxation. He said these taxes have a direct impact over S D Abodes Pvt. Ltd., which is a private company that holds the temporary contract of these taxes and claimed that TRS member and current MLC Mynampally Hanumanth Rao’s wife M Vani is the current director of the company.
