Hyderabad: Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna on Saturday visited the Deer Park in Vanasthalipuram and inspected various facilities in the park.

Speaking on the occasion, Jogu said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was quite serious on increasing the forest cover around Hyderabad. For the same reason, he said he has been visiting various parks on the city's outskirts to check the conditions. He said Hyderabad was unique among other cities in India in terms of greenery around it. He said there were 99 parks around Hyderabad. However, he said due to the negligence of previous regimes, those parks lack basic amenities and they could not be developed.

The minister announced that the parks around Hyderabad would be developed by spending Rs. 100 crore. He said these parks would be development at tourist destinations. He said steps would be taken to remove encroachments from public parks.

GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and other senior officials were also present.
