Hyderabad: Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana has launched ‘Training for Trainers’ (ToT) Programme for e-learning training modules for the government employees, sponsored by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Devesh Chaturvedi, Joint Secretary, DoPT, said the Centre had selected six States which included Assam,

Haryana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Telangana. “The huge reduction in the per trainee cost of training from Rs 18,000 for conventional training to a merely Rs 1,500 for e-training, would be greatly instrumental in imparting training to a much larger segment of employees and in achieving the cherished goals of both the Telangana State and the country at large.

Further, he said that the DoPT has plans to conceptualise and execute e-learning modules for in-service employees too at different levels of employment.

Dr G R Reddy, Advisor to Government of Telangana, said e-learning modules would be of great help in addressing the challenges of capacity building among employees in the context of the reorganisation of 10 districts into 31 districts. “The e-Learning training will go a long way in empowering employees at grass roots in effectively implementing the development and welfare-oriented initiatives,”

he said and added that optimum use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was the need of the hour for the employees to keep their skill sets up-to-date and current in the context of the mind-boggling changes that are taking place in the contemporary society.

Special Chief Secretary and DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, B P Acharya said imparting e-learning modules to 9,000 employees, across the State, is an ambitious target and called upon everyone concerned to put forth his/her best efforts in taking this initiative to the shore, safely and successfully.

“The availability of trained manpower at the grass roots level, especially a large contingent of Head Masters and others from Education Department, will have a great multiplier effect, bring in its wake a number of beneficial outcomes, and result in realising the dream of Bangaru Telangana”, he added and thanked the DoPT profusely for selecting Telangana State in its e-Learning mission.

Over 100 Chief Planning Officers, e-District Managers, District Educational Officers, District Training Coordinators, Head Masters, and School Assistants, who have undergone the ToT, will be the Master Trainers for imparting training to mandal and divisional level employees across the State.
