Revanth raises doubts over irrigation projects
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Telangana unit working President A Revanth Reddy on Friday shot off a four-page long open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao against the delay in the completion of the ongoing irrigation projects. He demanded that the Chief Minister make public the details of creation of new ayacut since 2014.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Telangana unit working President A Revanth Reddy on Friday shot off a four-page long open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao against the delay in the completion of the ongoing irrigation projects. He demanded that the Chief Minister make public the details of creation of new ayacut since 2014.
The TDP leader said K Chandrashekar Rao made the promise of creation of one crore acres of ayacut by redesigning and re-engineering the pending projects. He also pointed out that the Chief Minister announced the creation of one lakh acres of new ayacut in every assembly constituency.
Revanth said the completion of the proposed irrigation schemes under redesigning required nearly Rs 2 lakh crore but, not more than Rs 20,000 crore was spent on the projects in the last three years. He expressed serious doubts on the completion of all schemes with meagre funds in the next two years. He wondered why the government was enhancing estimations of all projects without the completion of works.
The TDP leader demanded that the government scrap the MoU, the government entered with Maharashtra on Kaleswaram project and lead an official delegation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the acquirement of 1,800 acres of land in the neighbouring State.
