Close shave for AP bus passengers
A private bus from Andhra Pradesh turned turtle on NH-65 at Atipamula of Kattangur mandal in the district on wee hours of Saturday.Around ten passengers suffered minor injuries and a girl who sustained grave injuries was shifted to Kamineni hospital.
Kattangur: A private bus from Andhra Pradesh turned turtle on NH-65 at Atipamula of Kattangur mandal in the district on wee hours of Saturday.Around ten passengers suffered minor injuries and a girl who sustained grave injuries was shifted to Kamineni hospital.
According to Kattangur police, Golden travels bus bearing number AP28 TD 1845 was going from Hyderabad to Rajamundry. The incident occurred when the bus reached Atipamula at around 3 am. The bus was carrying nearly 50 passengers.
On information, police rushed to the spot but, the driver of the bus fled after the accident. Injured were shifted to Narketpally Kamineni hospital for treatment. The other passengers were sent to their destination on other vehicles.
It was learnt that the bus was delayed by two hours from the start point in Hyderabad and to compensate the lost time, the driver drove the vehicle with unnecessary speed and lost control on the vehicle which led to the accident. After searches, the Kattangur police arrested the driver, Satyanaryana within a few hours after the accident.
