Due to long weekend the private travel agents in the city have increased the bus fare from Rs 600 to Rs 3000, as the demand from passengers have increased. People moving out of station during the long weekends have gone up by 20 per cent. Though special buses have been arranged by TSRTC, there is a heavy rush in buses.

People moving out of station during the long weekends have gone up by 20 per cent. Though special buses have been arranged by TSRTC, there is a heavy rush in buses.

TSRTC official said that for the citizens to commute to districts, the TSRTC had started operating 250 extra buses from August 11 and would continue till August 16. Passengers who book tickets through online have to pay 1.5 per cent extra when compared to the ones who buy directly. Spokesperson of Make My Trip Sandeep Kumar said that travelling during holidays is common . Most people travel during summer and long weekends.

Owner of Sharma Travels Surender Joshi said that due to long weekend there is a huge rush in buses and trains. Bus fare has increased from Rs 600 to Rs 3, 000 depending on destination. Joshi added most of the people are travelling to Visakhapatnam, Kollam, Vijayawada and other destinations.

Owner of Shameen Travels Arshad Khan said that most of the people from city are travelling out of station and to their native places, because of which the bus charges have been jacked up and the same would continue till August 16.
