The first batch of 500 Haj pilgrims from Telangana State safely reached the holy city of Mecca on Monday. They went for the holy pilgrimage through two special flights from Hyderabad.  

Hyderabad: The first batch of 500 Haj pilgrims from Telangana State safely reached the holy city of Mecca on Monday. They went for the holy pilgrimage through two special flights from Hyderabad.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali flagged off the first batch of Haj Pilgrims today at the Haj Terminal of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. The pilgrims who reached Holy Mecca today include 265 from Hyderabad, 81 from Karimnagar, 96 from Mahabubnagar, 76 from Medak, 131 from Nizamabad, 83 from Ranga Reddy, 41 from Adialbad and 7 from Warangal.

Two more flights carrying Haj pilgrims from Hyderabad will leave for Jeddah on Tuesday.
