Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday wrote a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah requesting him to release water for Telangana from his State.

"We wish to place on record our gratitude to you for having released drinking water from Karnataka to Telangana when we were facing severe drinking water shortage last year. We once again approach you with a similar request. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee resolved in its full executive committee meeting on August 13 to request the Karnataka government to release drinking water in appropriate quantity to overcome the shortage in Telangana now. We convey the request to you through this letter," Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

Uttam appealed to Siddiramaiah to direct Karnataka's irrigation department to release water in sufficient quantity from Karnataka to Telangana.
