Secunderabad: All India Malayalees Association (AIMA) Telangana unit is organising the Kovilan Memorial Lecture and a two-day drama festival in Secunderabad.

AIMA at its general body meeting on Sunday decided to organise the Kovilan Memorial Lecture in association with the Naveena Samskarika Kala Kendram (NSKK) at the NSKK High School auditorium on September 16.

Famous literary giants and award-winning writers like M T Vasudevan Nair, Sethu and others are likely to address the programme. They will also stage a two-day drama festival by Thiruvananthapuram Aradhana Theatres on October 7 and 8 at BHEL Auditorium and Harihara Kalabhavan, Secunderabad, according to a press release issued here on Monday.

National general secretary of AIMA, P N Sreekumar presided over the meeting. T C S Prasad, president of the AIMA-T spoke about the activities and future programmes of the association. M K Sasi Kumar, general secretary, presented the report and treasurer T V Verghese the accounts. C G Chandra Mohan, vice president of AIMA-T said about eight to nine associations and over 100 people joined the association in a short span of just four months.

Vice president E J Lawrence Verghese, national vice president, AIMA, K U Isaac and others also spoke. The award-winning dramas to be staged include ‘Athoru Kathayanu’ and ‘Achaneyanenikkishtam.
