Hyderabad: Putting an end to speculations that leadership change is imminent in Telangana Congress soon, party in-charge of Telangana RC Khuntia on Monday clarified that Telangana PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy would lead the party till 2019 elections.

He made it clear that the party would go by the decisions taken by Uttam only with regard to the allotment of seats and party posts to the leaders from the state to village-level in future. The party in-charge said that the party candidates for Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies would be declared six months before 2019 elections.

Khuntia also warned of stern action against the leaders who defy the party directions in future. The party in-charge held a marathon meeting with party senior leaders on the third day on Monday and discussed the strategies to be adopted to strengthen the party in the next two years.

The threat of defections in the Congress being encouraged by the ruling TRS and the BJP was also discussed in detail in the marathon meeting. Stating that ‘Rahul Sandesh’ yatras would continue till 2019 elections, Khuntia told the newsmen that the poll alliances with other political parties would be finalised by the party high command.

He said that the differences arose among senior leaders would be sorted ot through deliberations soon. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his family members exploited Telangana issue for political gains during the T movement and after the formation of the state also.
