Hyderabad: Addressing the party leaders and cadre after hoisting the National Flag at the party office, here on Tuesday State BJP President K Laxman said that cadre should strive for a society free of communalism. He made a call to the people to take inspiration from Quit India movement to have a society free of corruption, poverty and caste divisions.

Laxman said while the entire country was celebrating Independence Day on August 15, 1947, unfortunately the people of Telangana have to wait till September 17, 1948. People of the State could live free here because of the efforts put in by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The BJP president wanted the people of the State to contribute for a new India aspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wanted them to take inspiration from the Quit India movement for a new India from 2017 to 2022. The gap between rich and poor was wide because of the concentration of wealth within very few people.

Alleging that the TRS party was in the clutches of a communal party like MIM, there was a need to bring it out. People believed that there would be democracy in State if separate State was formed, but under CM KCR the State was witnessing undemocratic rule. The Centre was implementing many welfare schemes for the poor but the State government was not implementing the same here. He asked the party cadre to expose the corruption in the government.

Union Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said, to curb corruption the Centre took decisions like Note ban and GST. He stated the Central government had given 3 crore gas connections to the poor women. Party senior leader P Muralidhar Rao, BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy, National Executive Member Nagam Janardhan Reddy, General Secretaries Chinta Sambhamurthy, G Premender Reddy and others were also present.
