GHMC, CGG spar over false bills
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) locked horns with the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) over claiming false bills. The civic body officials claimed that despite completing only 50 per cent of the work, CGG had been producing bills for the total work.

According to highly placed sources in GHMC, the civic body during 2015 had entered into an agreement with CGG to maintain about 35 modules which includes maintenance of GHMC official website, trade license and property tax payment gateway and others. Sources said that the CGG completing only 50 per cent of the work (completed only 16 modules) has been claiming full amounts.
The civic body had agreed to pay Rs 9.5 crore as per the agreement which will be completed by October this year.
When queried about the same, a senior GHMC official told The Hans India that the CGG had produced bills claiming Rs 9.5 crore for completing 35 modules.
The official said during the recent verification by civic authorities it had been noticed that the CGG had only completed 16 modules for which the civic body had agreed to pay Rs 3.5 crore but, the latter had produced bills for Rs 9.5 crore.
When enquired with the CGG about the additional amounts charged, the official said CGG had worked and completed 20 extra modules including MYGHMC App, Mosquito App, Swachh Dhoot App and others which were not in the agreement.
The official said CGG will cross verify the work since several authorities maintaining GHMC data base have been transferred in the past three years. He also ensured that the CGG will complete the pending work prior to the agreement period.
