The Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) had its new office inaugurated in the presence of Irrigation, Marketing and Legislative Affairs Minister Harish Rao and Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, among other politicians and members from the press at the New MLA Quarters in Adarsh Nagar on Friday.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) had its new office inaugurated in the presence of Irrigation, Marketing and Legislative Affairs Minister Harish Rao and Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, among other politicians and members from the press at the New MLA Quarters in Adarsh Nagar on Friday.

Talking to the members from the press, Marketing and Legislative affairs Minister Harish Rao opined that the press works on the same lines of politicians, hence journalists must be provided with equal employee benefits.

Harish added among the Rs 100 crore budget plan to journalists, new union office is the first step and further, health cards for family members and setting up of wellness centres would come along the line in near future.

Telangana Gazetted Officers (TGO) president Srinivas Goud, who was also present on the occasion, addressed the members from the press expressing his gratitude for maintaining an optimistic approach towards the independence of the young State and hoped that the press would continue to strengthen itself.

Among other dignitaries were Health Minister C Laxma Reddy, Warangal Mayor Nannapuneni Narender, Retired Director General of Police (DGP) P S Ramamohan Rao, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, etc., who attended the inauguration ceremony.
