People told to be wary of fake documents

Peddapalli: Senior Civil judge Pattabhi Rama Rao on Saturday called upon people to verify the land records with the help of VRO and exercise caution to detect the fake property documents.
Addressing participants of a legal awareness camp held at Brahmanapalli village, he said the land disputes have become a common feature, not only in the State but all over the country and one of the reasons for the disputes is two or three persons obtaining the same patta on land registered under a survey number.
It would take a lot of time to resolve the land disputes, he said and asked the people to take precautions to check duplicity verifying the land records with the VRO. On purchase of property, it should be immediately registered in the office of sub-registrar.
In case of the property under a survey number is being registered in the name of two or three persons it can be verified browsing the Ma Bhumi website and error can be corrected to avoid legal wrangles, he added. Junior civil judge Rajender, divisional engineer Venkateswarlu, MRO Anupama Rao, Lok Adalat member Sivasattaiah and others took part in the programme.
