Mancherial: A coal filler employed in SRP-3 underground mine in Srirampur division on the outskirts of the town was killed as tubs used for shipping coal fell on him on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ratnam Rajaiah (51). He hailed from Yellakkapeta in Chennur mandal. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. When tubs filled with coal fell on Rajaiah, he sustained serious injuries and died on the way to Ramakrishnapur Area Hospital.
At the work place, Rajaiah was supposed to be supported by another worker who is experienced in handling shipping of the coal with the help of tubs. But the officials failed to deploy such a worker. Moreover, the tracks used to transport the coal to the surface of the earth were worn out.
