Very heavy rain occurred at isolated places and heavy rain at a few places in Nizamabad, Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar and Medak districts of Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, as the South-west monsoon was vigorous.

Hyderabad: Very heavy rain occurred at isolated places and heavy rain at a few places in Nizamabad, Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar and Medak districts of Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, as the South-west monsoon was vigorous.

The Met department bulletin said while Ranjal (Nizamabad dist) and Nallabelly ( Warangal) recorded 19 cm of rainfall each, there was 18 cm rain each in Navipet (Nizamabad), Mudhole (Adilabad) and Venkatapur (Warangal).

According to the bulletin, the other high amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Sarangapur (Karimnagar), Nizamsagar and Kotagiri (both Nizamabad) 17 each, Varni (Nizamabad), Shayampet (Warangal) and Yellareddy (Nizamabad) 16 each, Atmakur (Warangal) and Bodhan (Nizamabad) 15 each, Mulug and Govindaraopet (both Warangal) 14 each, Narayankhed (Medak) and Rudrur 13 each.

The chief amounts of rainfall in Telangana were: Sadasivanagar (Nizamabad), Utnur and Nirmal (both Adilabad), Lingampet (Nizamabad), Parkal (Warangal), Dichpalli (Nizamabad), Asifabad (Adilabad), Hanamkonda (Warangal), Yedapalli (Nizamabad), Tadwai, Kamareddy and Nandipet (all Nizamabad) 9 cm each, Machareddy and Nagareddipet (both Nizamabad) and Medak 8 each,

Domakonda and Madnur (both Nizamabad) 7 each, Kammarpalli and Bheemgal (both Nizamabad), Dharmasagar (Warangal), Gambhiraopet ( Karimnagar), Mogullapalle (Warangal) and Ramayampet (Medak) 6 each, Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy), Chennur (Adilabad), Metpalle (Karimnagar), Dharpalli (Nizamabad), Zaffergadh and Narsampet (both Warangal), Huzurabad (Karimnagar), Bhiknur (Nizamabad), Kothagudem (Warangal), Bheemadevarpalle (Karimnagar), Chennaraopet (Warangal), Mortad (Nizamabad) and Dubbaka (Medak) 5 each.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in Telangana on August 21 and 22 and at many places on August 23 and 24.
