There was not much significant rainfall in Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday, as the Southwest monsoon was weak, after it was active during the past week. The Met department bulletin said rain occurred at a few places in Karimnagar, Medak and Nizamabad districts during the last 24 hours.

Hyderabad: There was not much significant rainfall in Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday, as the Southwest monsoon was weak, after it was active during the past week. The Met department bulletin said rain occurred at a few places in Karimnagar, Medak and Nizamabad districts during the last 24 hours.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in Telangana were: Sircilla (Karimnagar) and Medak 2 each, Gambhiraopet, Bhiknur, Chinnachintakunta, Maganoor, Wanaparthy, Karimnagar, Mallial, Ramayampet and Mustabad 1 each.

The axis of monsoon trough at the mean sea level (MSL) passes through Anupgarh, Narnaul, Agra, Sidhi, Jamshedpur, Digha and thence east-southeastwards to nort-heast Bay of Bengal. The trough from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema is persisting.

According to the forecast, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana on August 25 and 26.Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Telangana on August 23 and 24. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.
