Telangana government will be conducting a comprehensive land survey in the state to resolve the various disputes and litigations regarding the maintenance of land records and ownership.

In an official statement, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was quoted saying, "The land survey took place during the Nizam's rule in 1932-36 in the region. After that no survey was done."

The Chief Minister held a meeting with ministers and officials in Hyderabad on Tuesday stating that the survey would resolve the land disputes permanently.

KCR said that the land records and registration procedures should be transparent.

According to the officials, the survey would be done in 10,875 villages in the state with each village considered as a unit. Land records will be updated online and new passbooks would be distributed to land owners following the records getting updated.
