Couple commits suicide after parents reject marriage proposal

A married man, Nagaraju along with his cousin Sruthi committed suicide on Wednesday in Nagarkurnool after their parents rejected their marriage proposal.

Nagaraju who was running a medical store in Tudukurthi village, got married to Uma of same village five years ago and the couple have a son.

However, Nagaraju fell in love with his cousin Sruthi and promised to marry her.

When Nagaraju approached his parents and wife, several objections were raised. Unable to deal with the turn of events and not wanting to be separated, both left home on August 21 and hanged themselves to a tree near Ippalapalli village.

Police found a suicide note near the spot and have registered a case.
