Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP B Suman on Thursday alleged that the Congress was trying to stop the Kaleshwaram project and as part of that Congress leader Sridhar Babu tried to stop the public hearing in Peddapally.

Addressing a press conference here at the TRSLP office along with MLC Bhanu Prasad and Shambipur Raju, Suman alleged that the Congress leaders were trying hard to stop the Kaleshwaram project. He said Kaleshwaram is going to be a life line for the people of Telangana and by opposing the project, the Congress would have no place in the history.

The Congress does not want the farmers to be benefitted and hence they were trying to create obstacles in the project works, he alleged. Suman claimed that the Congress leaders were creating obstacles right from the day on which agreement was made with the Maharashtra government. The State Congress leaders influenced the Maharashtra leaders to protest against the agreement in their State.

About 36 cases were filed against Kaleshwaram in the last six months by the Congress leaders, which shows their attitude towards the farmers in Telangana, he said and appealed the farmers to question the opposition leaders.

Suman lashed out against Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Prof M Kodandaram for his attack on the TRS government.
