Hyderabad: Politicians, actors and other prominent personalities participated in the grand opening ceremony of the Lalithaa Jewellery showroom here on Sunday, one of the largest across the world. It was inaugurated by Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao.

The opening ceremony was held with special Kerala beats of Chendamelam, Chendavadyam and others. Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao said Lalithaa Jewellery Showroom would surely be another feather in the cap of Hyderabad’s beauty. He inspected the diamond floor and other floors along with his wife.

In his speech, Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy said it was an immense pleasure for him to see such a grand showroom in Hyderabad and hoped that it would thrive here by offering its best services to the people.

Chairman and Managing Director of Lalithaa Jewellers M Kiran Kumar said the 1.30 lakh sq ft showroom was thrown open for public to sell high quality gold and diamonds with the slogan of ‘Gold for All’.

He said the showroom had gold ornaments, whose prices range between Rs 3,000 and Rs 3 crore. Giving further details, he said that the showroom has ornaments of diamond, gold, silver and other precious metals. The Hyderabad showroom was set up with an investment of Rs 750 crore, he added.

He said that the next showroom in city would be set up in Kukatpally and showrooms at Vijayawada and Rajahmundry were in the pipeline.

Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, former MP T Subba Rami Reddy and others were present on the occasion. Gold ornaments were sold at a concessional price on Sunday.
