Hyderabad: Lack of interest in studies has allegedly driven a 16-year-old boy to suicide.

According to Vanasthalipuram police, the deceased, G. Swamy Naidu, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Lakshmi Nagar of Kammaguda on Sunday night. He was pursuing intermediate first year with MPC group in Gayathri College. He was reportedly unable to bear the burden of studies due to lack of interest which consequently drove him to the extreme step.

In another case, a 65-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train near Bollaram Station on Monday morning. The Secunderabad Railway Police later identified the deceased as M. Rajaiah, a retired driver of Secunderabad Cantonment Board and a resident of Bollaram. The reason behind suicide is yet to be ascertained.

In a different case, P. Bhikshapati, 32, of Tattianaram, succumbed to the burn injuries which he had sustained after setting himself ablaze. According to Hayathnagar police, Bhikshapati took the extreme step after having an argument with his wife over some issue in inebriated condition on August 23. He was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where he died on Sunday night.
