Gajwel (Siddipet): District Collector P Venkatrama Reddy handed over the cheque of Rs 25 lakh from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, to the parents of Devasani Sriman, one-year-old child for liver transplantation at Global hospitals in Hyderabad.

Sriman, who was born to Devasani Hanuman and Maheswari, residents of Gajwel town, had been suffering from a liver ailment since his birth. Sriman’s father runs a small printing press in Gajwel town. Initially the boy was being treated at Niloufer hospital, but could not be cured there. The doctors advised the parents to go for liver transplantation as it was the only way to save the child.

On suggestion of doctors at Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital, the parents admitted Sriman at Global hospitals in Hyderabad, where the child is being treated at intensive care unit. The cost of liver transplantation was expected to be around Rs 25 lakh.

Due to the timely grant of Rs 25 lakh by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the family feels ever indebted. On Monday, the parents conveyed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister in Hyderabad, when the Collector handed over the cheque.
